Kylo Ren’s TIE Fighter at Burghley House

In the lead up to the latest Star Wars film, The Last Jedi, Colin Furze and eBay created a stunning 1:1 replica...

Nestled away in grounds of the iconic horse racing grounds, Burghley House, was something a little bit unusual during the first two weeks of December.

Looking across the grounds of Burghley one thing stood out, something that just didn’t quite seem at home…the looming silhouette of a TIE fighter parked just in front grand homes architecture.

The 1:1 scale version of Kylo Ren’s TIE Silencer from recent ‘Star Wars : The Last Jedi’ was created by Lincolnshire inventor, Colin Furze, in a project sponsored by eBay. A full video of the reveal can be seen here:

As a Star Wars fan when I realised this creation was so close to Lincolnshire I just had to go and take a look. I particularly wanted to try and achieve some light painting techniques, I’ve done these previously on automotive vehicles but this felt like the ideal opportunity to photograph something on a much grander scale.
